The 24h Operations Center of Istituto di Vigilanza La Patria coordinates all the patrol and corporate security services available with a widespread distribution across an area comprising 200 municipalities in Piedmont and Lombardy in addition to 120 municipalities in Emilia Romagna, in particular in the provinces of Bologna, Modena, Reggio Emilia, Milan, Varese, Monza Brianza and Novara, Como.
In addition to the continuous monitoring of alarm systems installed at companies, the Operations Centres (one in Bologna and one in Busto Arsizio) provide real-time activation of intervention procedures by patrols in the area in case of alerts.
The software at the Operations Centre was developed in-house with the objective of making all the activities performed by the Centre’s specialist operators more efficient and effective, while at the same time enhancing the value proposition for the final customer.
The Operations Centre software incorporates all tools for the management of alarm situations:
all from a single system.
This centralization provides easier handling of one or more alarm events arriving simultaneously from a single location.
La Patria’s patrols are equipped with a tablet device connected to the Operations Centre, giving both the Centre’s operator and the operator in the field all the information that is needed to perform the service as best as possible.
The Security Guards can operate in complete independence when they are working in the field, by consulting a customer file, which is in a simplified format when compared to that used at the Operations Centre. In this way, Guards can refer to notes regarding the context in which they have to work, such as the presence of a guard dog within a certain area, or any other type of hazard.
This simplicity therefore ensures the best possible performance by every member of the security team on site and on the move. The speed of data acquisition by each patrol allows completely independent intervention in response to an alarm while continuing the remote monitoring of the activities during the inspections performed in case of alarm, thus ensuring the highest possible level of security for field operators.
In addition, there is the possibility of activating a GPS with the address of the preloaded location, so that the operator can reach the destination with just a click. In fact, each patrol car is equipped with a completely “shielded” tablet, with IT security solutions that make it impossible to exit the app.
Operations Center operators work in an ad hoc structure, to which access is controlled and monitored, coordinating interventions and staying in touch with local patrol units that cover cities and regions, ensuring rapid responses in the event of alerts and dangers.
